1 pt. blueberries 1/2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1 c. sugar 2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 3 heaping tbsp. Crisco 1 egg, well beaten 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 pie crust, 9 inch Combine berries, 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat until sugar is dissolved or boiling point. Remove from heat; cool. Mix remainder of sugar, flour, salt; cut in Crisco until crumbly; reserve 1 cup. Add baking powder. Mix together wet ingredients; pour into dry ingredients; mix until moist (not smooth); pour into pie shell. Spoon in cooled blueberry mixture; cut through to marble. add spices to 1 cup reserved crumb topping and sprinkle on top. Garnish with dashes of cinnamon on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes. |
