6-8 apples, 6 c. pared (thinly sliced) 1 c. sugar 2 tbsp. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon Dash of nutmeg Dash of salt Combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix with apples. Line pie plate with crust and fill with apple mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until done. TOPPING FOR PIE: 1/3 c. sugar 3/4 c. all-purpose flour 6 tbsp. butter Mix 1/3 cup sugar with the flour; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apple mixture. |
