POLISH PICKLES
 

Cucumbers
Dill or dill seed
Garlic cloves
Hot pepper
Mixed spices
Chopped onions
Alum
1 qt. vinegar
1 c. salt

To each quart of cucumbers, add 2 heads dill or 2 teaspoons dill seed, 2 to 3 fresh garlic cloves, 1 hot pepper, 1 teaspoon mixed spices, 2 tablespoons chopped onion and 1/8 teaspoon alum. Make mixture of vinegar and salt, bring to boil and pour over cold cucumbers. Bring to boil and pour over cold cucumbers; seal.
