MOM'S BEST LASAGNA
 

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
Lasagna pasta
1 lg. bottle Prego spaghetti sauce
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, pressed
1 tsp. Tabasco
2 tsp. Worcestershire
1/2 brown sugar
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 can whole tomatoes
Salt and pepper (dash)
Fresh parsley (1 tbsp.)
1 egg
1 lg. cottage cheese
1 lb. grated Mozzarella cheese
1/2 c. Parmesan

MEAT SAUCE: brown ground beef, drain fat. Add onion, garlic, Tabasco, Worcestershire, brown sugar, oil, salt and pepper. Simmer 15 minutes Add spaghetti sauce and ripped up whole tomatoes (DO NOT add juice). Simmer 1 hour to all day for best flavor.

Cheese - Mix cottage cheese, Mozzarella, egg and parsley in large bowl. Layer in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch glass baking dish - UNCOOKED lasagna, 1/2 meat sauce, 1/2 cheese sauce, repeat ending with meat sauce. Sprinkle on Parmesan. Cover with foil, bake at preheated 350 degrees for 1 hour. Allow to cool 15 minutes before serving.
