1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. granulated sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. quick oats 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips Mix shortening, the sugars, egg and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add the oats and chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonsful on baking sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Cornflakes or Rice Krispies may be added, if desired. |
