2 c. sugar
1/2 c. instant coffee
3 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. 80 proof vodka
3 tbsp. vanilla

In large saucepan, mix sugar and coffee. Stir in water and salt. Over high heat stir until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and boil slowly for 1 hour.

Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and vodka. Cool and pour into a decanter.
