1 3/4 cups Granny Smith apples, pared, cored and sliced 1/3-1/2 c. granulated sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch 3/4 c. water 2 tbsp. freshly lemon juice 1/8 tsp. ginger 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
In microwave-safe 2 quart casserole. Microwave (high), covered with lid, 5-6 minutes or until thick and apples are tender, stirring after each 2 minutes.
Makes about 2 cups (same as 20 ounce can). Cool and freeze.
