SAUSAGE CHEESE STRATA
 

8 slices bread, trimmed & cubed
12 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded
1 lb. sausage, sauteed & drained
4 eggs
2 1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 c. milk
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms, drained

Layer bread, cheese and sausage in 9"x13" pan. Combine eggs, milk and mustard. Pour over strata. Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight. Before baking combine mushroom soup, milk and mushrooms. Spread over strata. Bake uncovered in a 350 degree oven for 55 to 60 minutes. Garnish with sauteed mushrooms (optional). Let stand 10 minutes. Cut into squares. Serves 8 to 10.

Can also add onions and peppers. Also very good to substitute hamburger for the sausage.
