BEEF AND BROCCOLI
 

1/2 lb. beef round steak, cut thin sliced
1 sm. clove garlic (minced)
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 to 4 tbsp. cooking sherry
2 tbsp. soy sauce
8 c. broccoli
3/4 c. water
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. cold water
Hot cooked rice

In wok or skillet stir-fry beef, garlic, sugar and salt in hot oil. Add sherry and soy sauce; cook, covered 2 to 3 more minutes. Remove meat and set aside. Add broccoli and 3/4 cup water to skillet. Bring to boiling. Stir, then continue cooking, covered, 2 to 5 minutes more. Add meat.

Combine cornstarch and the 1/2 cup of cold water. Pour into center of meat mixture. Cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened and bubbly. Serve with rice.
