4 pork chops, lean 2 to 3 apples, sliced, do not peel 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. cooking sherry 1 tsp. cinnamon Salt and pepper to taste Trim fat from pork chops. In a skillet, brown pork chops on both sides (no additional oil should be necessary). Drain oil. Place sliced apples over pork chops. Sprinkle top of apples with sugar, sherry, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Pour sherry evenly on top of all ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. (Mary uses an ovenproof skillet, to make it a one pan meal! Pork chops tend to stick to 'corning ware'.) |
