BARBECUED STEAK
 

1 pkg. instant meat marinade
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. red wine
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tbsp. barbecue sauce
1/2 tsp. dried basil leaves
2 3/4 lbs. beef chuck steak, cut 1 1/2 inches thick

Blend meat marinade, water and wine together. Stir in garlic, barbecue sauce and basil. Pour over meat in a shallow pan. Pierce all surfaces of meat thoroughly with a fork. Marinate only 15 minutes, turning and piercing with a fork frequently. Remove meat and reserve marinade. Place steak on broiler rack in preheated broiler 3 to 4 inches from heat and broil 15 minutes, brushing occasionally with the marinade. Turn and broil 10 minutes more or until cooked to desired degree of doneness, brushing occasionally with marinade. Serves 5 to 6 persons.
