PICADILLO (Cuban Meat Sauce)
 

1/4 c. olive oil
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 sm. green pepper, chopped
3 crushed garlic cloves
1 c. tomato sauce
2 oz. tomato puree
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 lb. cooked ground beef
1/2 lb. cooked ground pork
1/2 c. dry white wine
1/3 c. raisins
1/4 c. chopped black olives
1/4 c. chopped pecans
1/3 c. cooked mushrooms

Heat oil and saute onion, green pepper and garlic. Add tomato sauce and puree. Cook 1-2 minutes. Add vinegar, salt and pepper. Add beef and pork. Cook for 5-8 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Cook over medium heat until liquid evaporates and meat is well cooked.

Serves 6.
