SHEPHERD'S PIE
 

1 lb. ground beef or turkey
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 med. onion, diced
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar or 9 thin slices American cheese
2 tbsp. Gravymaster or Kitchen Bouquet
1/2 c. mixed vegetables or corn (canned or frozen)
6 servings instant mashed potatoes, prepared
1 deep dish 9-inch pie crust (frozen)
1/4 tsp. sage
Salt and pepper to taste
Paprika

Saute onions in 2 tablespoons butter, put aside in bowl. Brown meat in 2 tablespoons butter, add spices. Drain liquid into the sauteed onions. Add Gravymaster to meat, continue browning. Add sauteed onions and vegetables to meat in pan, mix thoroughly and remove from heat.

In pie crust, layer 1/3 cheese, 1/3 meat until all is in pie crust. Top with mashed potatoes. Sprinkle paprika. Bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
