MOM'S BARBECUE

3 lb. English beef roast or boneless chuck, approximately 4 c. uncooked cut- up meat
1/2 c. chopped celery
3 tbsp. chopped onion
1 (15 oz.) can Hunt's all natural tomato sauce

Cut the uncooked meat into small pieces and mix with the celery, onion and tomato sauce. (I bake the barbecue in an 8-quart covered Magnalite pan.) Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours approximately.

After barbecue has baked in oven for 1 1/2 hours, I use a potato masher to mash the meat somewhat. Return to oven for about 30 more minutes. Serve on sandwich buns.

NOTE: The Hunt's tomato sauce in the recipe adds enough salt and spice to the barbecue so no additional amount is needed. The barbecue can be frozen ahead of time or it can also be frozen after it is cooked. It keeps well. Makes 12 sandwiches.
