1 beef brisket (approximately 5 lbs.) Salt and pepper 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 c. water 1 c. ketchup 1 tsp. dry mustard Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Season brisket with salt and pepper and place in roasting pan. Mix remaining ingredients, then pour over meat. Cover pan with foil. Bake 4-5 hours or until tender. (If gravy becomes too dry, add water). Excellent for cooking ahead or freezing. Reheats well. Slice before freezing or reheating. |
