2 tbsp. salad oil 1/2 c. chopped onions 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans, drained 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes 2 tbsp. chili powder (or more, to taste) Saute onions and green pepper in salad oil until lightly browned. Add ground beef, garlic and salt. Stir mixture, breaking meat into small pieces. Cook until meat loses red color. Stir in beans, tomatoes and chili powder. Simmer for 30 minutes (or put browned meat and other ingredients into crock pot, for more convenience) about 5 hours on low. |
