1 lb. ground beef 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs 1 c. (8 oz.) tomato sauce 1/4 c. chopped onion 1/4 c. green pepper 1/2 c. chili sauce 1 prepared pastry shell CHEESE TOP: 1 egg 1/4 c. milk 1/2 tsp. each of dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese Heat oven to 425 degrees. In medium skillet, cook and stir meat, ground pepper and onion until brown. Drain off fat. Stir in salt, cayenne pepper, bread crumbs and 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Turn into pastry shell. Beat egg and milk; stir in seasonings and cheese. Spread cheese topping over filling. Bake 30 minutes. |
