1 sm. head cabbage, shredded 2 green onions, chopped 1/2 sm. pepper, chopped (optional) 1/2 c. slivered almonds DRESSING: 2 tsp. (I use double amount) sesame seed 1/2 c. oil 2 tsp. sugar or artificial sweetener 1 tsp. soy sauce 1 pkg. Ramen noodle-type chicken soup mix 4 tbsp. vinegar 2 tbsp. water Heat sesame seeds in oil over medium heat until brown. Cool to lukewarm. Add water, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and seasoning packet for soup mix. Stir until blended. Pour dressing over cabbage, onion, pepper and almonds; toss. Just before serving, crumble dry noodles over salad and toss together. (They add a delightful crunch!) |
