DUTCH APPLE PIE
 

1 c. brown sugar
3 c. sliced apples, sliced and cored
4 tbsp. butter
1 box cake mix or shortcake dough

In deep cake pan put the butter and half of sugar. Mix remaining sugar with apples and place in pan. Over this pour cake mix batter and bake in moderate oven, 325 degrees, until done. When done turn upside down on plate. Serve with whipped cream or make meringue and bake in oven about 275 degrees about 15 minutes.
