CREAM OF TARTAR COOKIES

1 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar water
1 egg
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Make into balls, roll in white sugar. Bake at 350 degrees.
