1/4 lb. butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. table cream
1/4 c. dark rum
Melt butter; add sugar and stir constantly over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves graininess is gone and syrup starts to thicken. Add cream and stir to blend. Add rum; stir and simmer briefly. Store in refrigerator until used.
To serve: Slice bananas in oven-proof dish. Add desired amount of syrup. Place under broiler until bubbly and slightly browned. Serve over ice cream and sprinkle with cinnamon.
