CRISP OATMEAL COOKIES
 

1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped pecans
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. oatmeal (use old fashioned if possible)
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ginger
Dash of cloves & allspice

Place shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla in mixer bowl. Beat until very light and fluffy. Mix flour with spices, baking powder and soda. Fold into beaten mixture alternately with milk. Fold in raisins and pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Store in airtight container to keep crisp. Makes 5 dozen, or more, depending on size of cookie.
