1 c. raisins
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. rolled oats[
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
Simmer 1 cup raisins and 1 cup water over low heat until raisins are plump. Drain liquid into measuring cup. Add enough water to make 1/2 cup.
Cream shortening, sugar, add eggs, vanilla, stir in raisin liquid. Sift dry ingredients together. Add oats and raisins, pecans. Drop rounded teaspoonful on greased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
