2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
4 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
4 c. chocolate chips

Cream together shortening, sugars and vanilla. Add eggs and beat well. Combine flour, baking soda and salt, add. Stir in chocolate chips.

Spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 minutes.

The secret to chewy cookies is to take them out before they are done. Yield: 12 dozen.
