4 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. shortening 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 4 eggs, well beaten 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 c. flour Melt cocoa in shortening and let it cook a short time, low heat. Remove from heat and add 2 cups sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Beat 4 eggs and add to chocolate mixture, then add 1 cup flour and 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder. Bake in a greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. (I often add chopped walnuts.) |
