THE BEST CUT OUT SUGAR COOKIES
 

4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light sour cream
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together the dry ingredients. Cream butter. Add sour cream, sugar, vanilla and egg. Gradually add dry ingredients. Mix until smooth. Chill overnight. On lightly floured surface, roll out some dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out desired shapes. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned. For frosting, combine confectioner's sugar and milk until consistency is right for spreading.
