Beat almond paste with sugar and blend well. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry in a separate bowl. Add egg whites to almond mixture, sprinkle baking powder and fold egg whites into almond paste until nice and smooth.
Line cookie sheet with foil. Drop a teaspoon of cookie dough about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle pignoli nuts onto each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes until golden brown. Remove aluminum sheet from pan and cool completely. Then just peel cookies off and store in a tupperware container.
