HONEY AND MAPLE SYRUP COOKIES
 

1 c. shortening
3/4 c. honey
3/4 c. maple syrup
2 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 pkg. vanilla
1 tsp. salt

Cream shortening. Add honey and maple syrup, also slightly beaten eggs. Beat the mixture until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Sift flour with soda and salt. Add to the first mixture. Fold in nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by half teaspoons on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until light browned. Makes 100 small cookies.
