CHOCOLATE COCONUT COOKIES
 

1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour

Cream butter, sugar, salt and vanilla. Add flour, mix well. Shape in walnut size balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and press hole in center of each ball. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes, until browned. Fill while warm with following filling:

CREAMY NUT FILLING:

3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir together until smooth and add 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 1/2 cup flaked coconut.

FROSTING:

Melt 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons water in double boiler. Add 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar, stir until smooth. Frost each cookie.
