1 (6 oz.) pkg. long grain rice 1 lb. unseasoned ground pork 8 oz. mushrooms 1 lg. onion 4 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. half and half 2 1/2 c. chicken broth 1/8 tsp. thyme 1/4 tsp. oregano 1/8 tsp. marjoram 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sliced almonds Cook rice as directed on package. Brown sausage and drain fat. Add chopped onion and saute. Add flour and half and half and cook with chicken broth to make white sauce. Season. Combine with cooked rice and put into casserole. Bake 45 minutes in 350 degree oven. Spread almonds on top before serving. |
