This is an original recipe from my son Michael and is always a hit. It is also VERY easy to prepare.
Cook 1 pound hamburg with a large chopped onion (Mom also adds chopped green pepper and chopped celery to hers). Drain off any excess fat. Add a package of taco seasoning mix and 3 tablespoons salsa. Heat a large can of refried beans. Add to the hamburg mixture. Cut up a large tomato and add to the mixture. Cook slightly. Place in layers in a 9"x13" pan: Nacho chips The rest of the hamburg mixture Top with grated cheese
The choice of cheese is yours. For example Velveeta Mexican shredded, grated cheddar, or grated Mozzarella. Serve with salsa and sour cream.
