PLUMP 'N JUICY CASSEROLE BURGERS
 

1 lb. ground beef
2-3 slices leftover bread
1 egg
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms with juice
1 onion

Soak bread slices in warm water and squeeze as dry as possible. Mix together bread, ground beef, egg and seasonings. Heat a little oil in skillet and brown nicely-shaped patties on both sides. Cut up medium to large onion and place in a 1 1/2 to 2 quart casserole. Place browned patties over onion.

To the drippings in skillet, add mushrooms, including liquid, and heat and stir briefly. Pour this gravy over hamburger patties, cover, and bake in a 350 degree oven about 45 minutes.

These are the juiciest burgers you've ever experienced! You'll want to serve them with mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta, so you can serve the delicious gravy over all. 3-4 servings.
