2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 egg white

Boil sugar and water together until it forms a small ball in cold water. Pour the hot mixture over the stiffly beaten egg whites; beat while pouring. Add nuts and vanilla; beat until stiff. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
