HELOISE PRALINES
 

1 c. buttermilk
2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. pecan halves

Use your favorite candy making pot, one that's big enough to prevent any overflows. Just stir ingredients until the sugar is thoroughly mixed on medium heat. Let cook and bubble up until turns brownish and reaches soft ball stage. Remove pan from heat and add tablespoon of butter, vanilla, and pecan halves. Beat until glossy or cystalized. Quickly spoon into little patties about 2 inches on waxed paper or greased cookie sheet. Let cool.
