2 c. sugar 2 c. all purpose flour 1 stick butter 1/2 c. Crisco 4 tbsp. cocoa 1 c. water 1 tsp. soda 1/2 c. milk 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs (pre mix eggs) Pinch of salt Put sugar and sifted flour in bowl and mix...put butter, Crisco, cocoa, and water in pan and bring to a boil...pour this mixture over flour and sugar and mix...add other ingredients one at a time and mix...Bake in a jelly-roll pan for 20 minutes at 350 degrees (watch the timing..it can change from oven to oven). I use butter milk DO ALL MIXING BY HAND CHOCOLATE ICING: 1 stick butter 6 tbsp. spoons milk 1 tsp. vanilla 4 tbsp. cinnamon 1 box 10x sugar-sifted Put butter, milk, vanilla, cocoa, and cinnamon in pan...bring to boil...take off heat and stir in 10x sugar...pour over cake and spread. If icing is too thin add a little more sugar. |
