MOUNDS CAKE
 

1 box of devils' food cake mix

Bake cake according to directions on the cake mix box. Let cool. Slice layers in half (a string works good for this).

1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
20 lg. marshmallows
1/2 c. butter
1 lg. pkg. of coconut (not frozen)
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Combine sugar, milk, butter in pan. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Cook for 5 minutes. Add marshmallows, coconut, and nuts. Stir until marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat. Cool. Put filling in between layers. Frost cake with your favorite chocolate frosting.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

3 c. sugar
Dash of salt
1 (12 oz.) pkg. of chocolate chips
1 c. evaporated milk
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 c. marshmallows

Heat sugar, milk and salt in a heavy saucepan. Bring to boil. Boil 5 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and add butter, chips and marshmallows. Stir until consistency is right for spreading on cake.
