BOILED ICING
 

Meringue (great for string work or anywhere that a "hard" icing is needed). 1/2 c. warm water 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

Boil to 240 degrees. Meanwhile mix: 1/2 c. warm water

Beat for 7 minutes at high speed. Turn to low speed; add 3 1/2 cups (1 pound) sifted powdered sugar and beat 4 minutes at high speed. Slowly add boiled sugar mixture and beat 5 minutes at high speed. (Keeps 1 week in refrigerator.) Keep covered.
