2 1/4 c. flour
2 c. white sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
3 eggs
1/2 c. butter milk or sour milk Combine flour, sugar, soda, and salt. Place butter in saucepan with 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Combine eggs and buttermilk. Add to butter then pour in flour mixture, mix until blended. Pour into large cookie sheet with rim. Batter will be thin. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. FROSTING: Bring 1 stick butter and 3 tablespoons milk to a boil. Gradually add 1 pound powdered sugar with 1 teaspoon vanilla and mix well. Spread on cake while warm. Top with chopped nuts. |
