2 c. water 1 c. rice (regular) 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. oil or butter Bring water to boil in saucepan. Add salt and oil. After water boils again, add rice and stir well. When water returns to boil; cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low or simmer and cook 8-10 minutes. Do not lift lid! The closed lid is the secret to perfect rice. At end of 8-10 minutes, turn off heat, but leave rice standing for another 8-10 minutes before opening lid. |
