8 slices bread, cubed 2 c. grated Cheddar cheese 1 1/2 lbs. sausage 6 eggs 2 1/4 c. milk 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup 1/2 c. milk Place cubed bread in bottom of greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Top with cheese. Brown sausage, drain well, then place on cheese. Beat eggs with 2 1/4 cups milk. Pour over the other ingredients. Dilute soup with 1/2 cup milk and pour over casserole. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Place in cold oven and bake at 325 degrees for approximately 1 1/2 hours. Serves 10 to 12. |
