2 to 3 lbs. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cans tomato soup
2 qts. tomato juice
2 tbsp. brown sugar
For chili with beans:
Brown ground beef. Drain off fat and add onion, salt, chili powder, pepper, and soup. Transfer to large kettle and add tomato juice and brown sugar. Simmer for 30 minutes. For chili with beans, add beans and simmer 10 minutes more. About 1 gallon.
This recipe was used for several years by Cub Scout Pack 140 for it's family chili suppers.
