BREAD PUDDING
 

1 loaf stale French bread, broken into bite-size pieces
4 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. milk
4 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. nutmeg
Raisins, if desired

Mix all ingredients. Pour into a 2 quart buttered dish. Bake at 325 degrees for one hour.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cream
1/2 c. butter

Cook in double boiler for 10 minutes. Then add rum extract, 1 teaspoon after above mixture has slightly cooled. Pour sauce over pudding. Delicious warm or with a dab of whipped topping.
