BREAD PUDDING WITH SAUCE
 

1 c. milk, scalded
4 c. day old bread crumbs
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. seedless raisins (optional)

SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. butter
3 c. milk
Nutmeg (to taste)

Pour scalded milk over bread crumbs. Cool. Add sugar, salt, cinnamon, eggs and raisins. Pour into baking pan that has been buttered. Bake at 350 degrees until set.

Combine sauce ingredients, scalded milk. Melt butter and add to flour to make a paste. Stir into hot milk. Add sugar and nutmeg. Cook until thickened. Serve over bread pudding. Can serve hot or cold.
