BEER BREAD
 

5 c. unsifted self-rising flour
5 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. sour cream
1 (12 oz.) can beer
Melted butter for tops

Use half self-rising flour and half self-rising cornmeal. Optional grated Cheddar cheese.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In large bowl combine flour and sugar. Add sour cream and beer alternately; mix well. Pour into well greased (Pam) baking dishes as follows:

2 quart round dish - bake 45 minutes. Brush top with butter, bake 15-20 minutes longer (use cake tester in center).

Or 4 (16 ounce) round dishes - bake 35 minutes. Brush top with butter, bake 3-6 minutes longer (cake tester).
