1/2 c. oil 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/3 c. corn meal 2 c. milk 2 eggs, beaten 1 pkg. dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 4 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. butter, melted Combine first 5 ingredients in double boiler. Cook over hot water until thick. Pour into bowl. Cool until lukewarm. Add eggs; mix well. Dissolve yeast in warm water in bowl. Add to cooked mixture; mix well. Cover with wet towel. Let rise for 2 hours. Add flour; mix well. Knead lightly on floured surface. Let rise, covered, until doubled in bulk. Roll on lightly floured surface. Cut with round biscuit cutter. Brush with melted butter; fold in half. Place on baking sheet. Brush with butter. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes. Brush with melted butter immediately. Yield: 36 rolls. |
