1 pt. milk, scalded
1/2 c. lard (substitute vegetable shortening)
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. mashed potatoes
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Add the yeast to lukewarm water. Cool. Add and mix all the ingredients to make a soft dough. Let rise. This keeps several days. Bake in muffin tins.
This came from Grandmother's original book. There were no baking directions as commercial ovens were used!
