GLAZED DOUGHNUTS
 

2 c. lukewarm milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 or 2 cakes yeast in small amount of water warm
2 eggs
1/2 c. shortening
7 c. flour

Stir milk, sugar and salt together. Add shortening and eggs. Beat well and add dissolved yeast. Mix. Gradually add flour let raise. Roll out and cut out doughnuts. Let it raise and deep fry it. Glaze it with 1 pound confectioners' sugar, 1 teaspoon butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 teaspoon plain gelatin dissolved in 1/2 cup boiling water. Boil until syrupy.
