SOFT BREADSTICKS
 

3 1/4 to 3 1/2 c. flour
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
1 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. salt
1 egg

In large mixing bowl; mix together 1/2 the flour and yeast. In saucepan heat milk, butter, honey and salt just until ingredients are warm and dissolved. Add to flour mixture; blend well. Add egg; stir until mixture is smooth. Pour in remaining flour; stir to make a moderately stiff dough. Cover, let rise until dough is doubled in bulk, about 45 minutes. Punch down; turn onto lightly floured surface; let rest for 10 minutes. Cut dough into strips, roll into sticks. Place on two greased cookie sheets. Cover, let rise for about 45 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Makes about 24 breadsticks.
