Homemade bread made easy -- rises only once and requires no kneading. Oven temperature - 375 degrees. Makes 1 loaf. Generously grease 9 x 5 inch loaf pan or 2 quart deep round casserole. 1/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 2 pkgs. active dry yeast
Combine dry ingredients in large mixer bowl. 1 c. milk 1/4 c. cooking oil
Heat in saucepan over low heat until warm.
MIX: Add 1 egg and warm liquid to flour mixture. Blend at lowest speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at medium speed. By hand, stir in another 2 to 2 1/2 cups Pillsbury's best unbleached flour to form a stiff batter.
RISING:
Cover dough; let rise in warm place until light and doubled - about 50 minutes. Stir down dough; spoon dough into greased pan.
BAKE:
Bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until loaf sounds hollow when lightly tapped. Remove immediately, cool. Brush with butter and sprinkle with coarse salt if desired. HIGH ALTITUDE - 5000 feet. No change. Measure flour by lightly spooning into cup; level off.
