1 fat hen or 2-3 chickens 1 gallon potatoes 1 gallon tomato juice 4 cans cream style corn 1/3 c. fricassee powder (to taste) 2 tbsp. salt (to taste) 2 tbsp. pepper (to taste) Cook and debone and grind hen or chickens (save the broth). Peel and cut up potatoes, cook and mash in water. Add 1 gallon tomato juice to potatoes. Add hen or chicken and broth. Bring to a rolling boil. Add corn, stirring constantly (will stick and burn easily). Bring again to a rolling boil and add seasoning to taste. Let boil about 8- 10 minutes before turning off. |
